Branding yourself as a boss can be challenging but leveraging your brand can be very profitable!
Today’s ordinary women doing extraordinary works in their industries have become millionaires because they have branded themselves. My purpose is to share four strategies they have used to leverage their brands.
Market Their Brand on Relevant Platforms
Millionaires are made daily utilizing websites, email marketing systems (CRMs), and social media platforms. Women who have been speakers and Emcees at conferences I have had have become millionaires by leveraging their brands. They discovered how to build a following and mastered how to transfer them off social media to other platforms. Let's Reach Success guides you on converting followers to clients on Instagram. However, marketing, branding or social media coaches/strategists or mentors can provide you with these strategies to leverage your brand.
Utilize Media Consistently
“Consistency is the key!” is a common phase. As I turned 60 years old recently, I realized it is the one common phrase that every single millionaire has stated in their content. Frontify, expressed it best, “Brands that are consistent are up to four times more likely to have great brand visibility!” As you work to leverage your brand to find and build your targeted audience, being consistent will outweigh knowledge, experience, and expertise. There are a lot of intelligent, well-versed experts who are broke.
Establish Yourself as an Expert through Content Creation
We became a “knowledge-based society” in the 20th Century. In the 21st Century, social media became popular. When I began writing my dissertation, two things stood out: I was told I would become an expert in my field, and my dissertation was selected for the Library of Congress. Although I felt validated as an expert, many young entrepreneurs have mastered the art of creating content. They have spent a very short period in their field, but they are recognized as experts because they are consistent with creating content. Establishing yourself as an expert through content creation ultimately is the way you get a big-ticket client to buy your product or service.
Build a Community of Support Through Strategic Partnerships
Regardless of how sharp, knowledgeable, talented, or creative, you are, you can never build your business alone. Building strategic partnerships are how successful women in business leverage their brand. Benchmark International defines a strategic partner as another business entity in which you develop a plan or agreement to share resources with the mission of growth and mutual success.
Amanda Gorman recently established a strategic partnership with Estee Lauder. She inked a 3-year, $3M deal. While this is an amazingly fabulous partnership, most ordinary women doing extraordinary works became successful by building partnerships with women with certain skill sets and connections.
Ultimately, what separates these bosses who are millionaires from other bosses are...they have mastered ALL four of these strategies to leverage their brand. So BOSS Up! For more information, follow me @DrJoAnnAjayiScott on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
